Courses
Dartmouth Championship Course
The 7,200 yard, par 72 Championship Golf Course, which has hosted the West Region PGA Championships on no less than 6 occasions, has been designed to challenge the most proficient golfer, with the strategic positioning of tees, meandering streams, 12 water features and undulating greens providing an excellent and enjoyable challenge to golfers of all abilities.
Bigbury
People who visit this famously friendly, cliff-top golf course near Kingsbridge in Devon will never forget the experience. This challenging yet forgiving coastal golf course offers 18-holes, 6000-yards and is a very fair par-70. There are stunning views in all directions: Dartmoor to the north, Burgh Island to the west, and on the eastern flank, Bantham Beach and the winding River Avon. Sea breezes can make it interesting and different every time.
Thurlestone
Situated in an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, Thurlestone is a fantastic location to play golf. Running along the stunning coastline of Bigbury Bay, the course is a mix of links and cliff-top terrain with the latter providing breath-taking views of the legendary Thurlestone Rock to the East and the beautiful Avon Estuary and Burgh Island to the West. The course is one of the most exhilarating with majestic rocky seascapes above the coves where smugglers used to operate. It is also ideal holiday golf - not too severe, with quite generous fairways but the wind, of course, can blow with a vengeance.
Churston
Established in 1890, Churston is a stunning parkland course with amazing coastal sea views over Torbay, Devon. Not only are the 18 holes laid out and presented in a fashion that is always pleasing on the eye, Mother Nature has ensured that the sub strata of shillet and shale are perfect for golf course drainage making it playable all year round. The standard of the course and greens are always kept to a very high standard at Churston and is a great golfing experience for all levels of golfer. Churston regularly host’s county amateur and PGA regional events.
Wrangaton
Wrangaton Golf Club was founded in 1895 on the southern slopes of Dartmoor. The course is unique with a split of 9 moorland holes and 9 parkland holes. It’s very much a course of two halves and there is nothing else like it in Devon. Many holes showcase stunning views of the rich Devonshire countryside with a backdrop of the coastline and the sea 10 miles away. The course comes with its own set of unique challenges that will test any level of golfer and their shot making ability.
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided at either The Royal Castle Hotel or Dartmouth Golf & Country Club. The onsite at Dartmouth Golf & Country Club, located just outside Dartmouth is home to 35 beautifully decorated bedrooms and some with panoramic views of the golf courses and surrounding Devon countryside. The Lakeside health & leisure facilities are available for guests to use and include a great range of ways to relax after a round such as the indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room or you can choose from a range of treatments.
